Boutique

I love shopping, but lately and by lately I mean since I found out we were having a baby I spend more time browsing websites and blogs that sell or write about baby related gadgets, clothes etc. I am an expert in baby strollers, there is almost no stroller I cannot identify...and when I see one that I can't I rack my brain and try to search online to find out what model/brand it is. It is sad! I love baby clothes too, but when we found out we were having a girl, it was a little disappointing to find out how many pink items there are...I have about one pink item in my closet and I don't think the average woman wears that much pink, so why the overabundance and saturation of pink. Well, maybe because it's summertime when I was last at the childrens place there seemed to be less pink but what has me most excited is Old Navy's baby boutique collection, I LOVE IT. I don't know if it's a new thing but I noticed it in the last month or so and I love it. I think it is reasonably priced, if you ask me baby clothes are too expensive...but what are you going to do?

Hey

I'm back...Tavi is here, actually she has been home for almost 4 months but I have blogged nothing for 6 months. Life as a mom is busy...I don't need to tell any mom that. Sleep is scarce, one barely has time for themselves let alone time as a couple. Four months later we have learnt to sleep when she does and we are now used to her eating schedule...but our Tavi is not a stickler so we have learnt to adapt. I am at home with her, E is now the breadwinner which is a total reverse of roles ( a temporary one)...I never thought I would be a stay at home mom. Since I am home, I will try to write every day or so while Tavi is sleeping (which at 4 months doesn't happen very often during the day) and keep my 1 fan updated on our family.

Here's Mia!

Updates

I've been silent, we've had a lot going on. We are now on our third trimester-Yeah. I've been so busy buying cute baby clothes -- those are really hard to resist but now we need to start buying nursery furniture. I'm yet to paint the room and it's in a mess right now, so that needs to be cleared up. It's going to be busy busy busy from now till April. We have to pick a pediatrician too and are trying to get recommendations from people, I don't think I have ever taken such care in picking a doctor for either of us. E is still getting sick, not as much as the first trimester, she still has her bad days and this Saturday we have a 3 hour glucose tolerance test, after her numbers were too high with the 1 hour test. We hope she does not have gestational diabetes. We have read up on it abit and are a little bit encouraged that it wont be so bad... and there are ways to try and control it, we're hopeful! Every single thing and symptom that one could have during pregnancy she has had. Poor thing, I don't think she would ever consider going for baby 2--looks like I will have to work on that one. We've had two baby classes so far, a pediatrician night and a baby care class--three more to go. It is a lot of information to retain but we have learnt so much, and hopefully are now more prepared. We'll see.

Updates

E is gaining weight, moderately--but the last two days have been bad for her. It felt like the first trimester all over again, throwing up, lack of apetite and just a general sick feeling. I hope this is temporary. Other than that, our countdown is now in the teens, 17 weeks--hard to believe and fantastic. I have slowed down on the shopping, by not going to any baby stores, that's the only way I will be able to do it.

22 weeks

Our very active little girl--she kicked mommy this morning as I was driving her home from work. Everytime we have had an ultrasound the techs. have commented on how active she is--I wonder if this is an indicator of what her personality will be once she is here.
I need someone to stop me, I have been shopping on a daily basis since I found out we are having a girl, E's mum is very superstitious and does not think we should buy anything yet--if it was upto her we would probably show up at the hospital on the delivery day with no baby clothes, and would probably have to shop from the hospital gift store. I'll probably slow down and buy the 'important" stuff--and try to resist those cute little dresses and hats and shoes...they definitely know how to get the parents spending.

It's Mia

It's a girl, I was wrong in the beginning but right towards the end, but I lost all my bets since I made them early when no one could convince me we were having a girl. E was in shock, I think she wanted to believe it's a boy. A little girl, I am so happy! but any gender would have been a blessing--now we know, and they also said everything is in its place and is the right number so we are hoping and praying that all continues along well. We spent the whole day out, had dinner, saw a movie and ofcourse went shopping. We got the cutest little dresses on sale and they weren't pink. I don't know how many parents out there are sick of seeing only pink and/or frilly girl clothes, boy clothes are more creative and interesting than girls clothes in my opinion. A little yellow, green, brown on a girl never hurt anyone.

I'm so thankful, so happy, so blessed.
